Genre You Read The Most: Fantasy. (No surprise there)
1. Best Book You Read In 2017?

The Bear and the Nightingale, and the sequel The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden.
Both are just so magical and really brought me into the world.
2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
The synopsis made it sound better than it was. It was just a little boring, and the characters were all unlikable.
3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?
It had a little bit of a rocky start for me, but it's one of my favorite new books I read this year.
4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?
I don't really push people to read anything, more of a "Hey, this is a book I loved, maybe you'll like it too." And just hope they like it as much as I did.
5. Best series you started in 2017? Best Sequel of 2017? Best Series Ender of 2017?
Bear and the Nightingale is the best start of a series, and I one read one Series ender this year, End of Days by Susan Ee
6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2017?
Hmm, it would have to be Katherine Arden
7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?
I stuck to Fantasy this year, so nothing new.
8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?
I also took to long to start reading this book, and now the series is almost done and I don't have the next book on hand to read. But upside to that is, I can buy the last two when they're both out and just read then back to back.
9. Book You Read In 2017 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?
Well, I started to re-read Harry Potter early last year and had hoped to read the whole series again through the year, but that didn't work out. So my next re-read is Prisoner of Azkaban.
10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2017?
There are so many beautiful covers from the books I read this year that I can't choose.

11. The most memorable character of 2017?
I've had a really stressful year. While there have been a lot of really interesting characters none of them really stand out.

The Bear and the Nightingale.
13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2017?
I honestly can't think of any. I read lots of Fantasy, but nothing that was really that groundbreaking and thought-provoking.
14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2017 to finally read?
I can't believe it took me this long to re-read Harry Potter. I haven't re-read the series in almost a decade.

Again with the stress, I just felt a little desensitized with books this year.

None of the books I've read this year with a romance particularly made me want to root for them that much.

I don't really read things that I'm not that into. So, I never feel pressured to read something just because lots of people want me to, or if lots of people promote it. That actually makes me not want to read it.
22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2017?
I've kind of gotten past that. I'm a little too old to have crushes on book characters. I also read mostly YA, and those characters are between the age of 13-18.... and I'm 31.

Unique doesn't always mean good...

Grammar errors, spelling errors, poorly developed characters, boring plot. The synopsis also didn't add up to how the book was going, or how characters behaved.

I guess the ones I wrote for Harry Potter because it's the first time I've written a review for them.
3. Best discussion/non-review post you had on your blog?
Not a discussion... Music Monday: Gregorian Chanting
It's just really interesting hearing these songs sung in such an untraditional way.
4. Best event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc.)?
I just feel like I have been waiting forever to read this book, and knowing it was coming out soon made me happy.
5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2017?
No longer feeling obligated to pump out a review a week.
6. The most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year?
I've been in a reading slump all year. It sucks.

My book Beginning/Friday 56 for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with 110 page views
8. Post You Wished Got A Little More Love?
My reviews. They don't ever really get comments or as many page views as the weekly blog events I take part in.
9. Best bookish discover (book related sites, bookstores, etc.)?
Nothing new this year.
10. Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?
I got my Goodreads challenge finished with one book over, but I didn't get through any of the unread books on my shelf. I actually added to them.

There's about 10 books I wanted to read this year that I haven't read.

I have an eARC for Children of Blood and Bone, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, I got a sample of it earlier in the year and I read that. This sounds like it's going to be a great book.
I am determined to read The Bear and the Nightingale this year. I have heard such good things about it--and it's one of your favorites! Ooo! The Tethered Mage! Another one I want to read.
