It has been a long time since I have read a book with a new-to-me couple that I love. So a lot of this list is going to consist of books I have read in the past with couples that I still love.
Day and June, Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu
They are two sides of the same coin. Despite what they went through in book one, they fully trust and respect each other.
Kai and Cinder, Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Really all of the couples in this series can be on this list. But Kai and Cinder are so cute.
Katy and Daemon, Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
They will always be a favorite. They way they come together is one of my favorite tropes, hate to love. They do have an instant attraction to each other, and it seems to piss them off that they do for different reasons.
Kestrel and Arin, Winner's trilogy by Marie Rutkoski
Much like with Day and June, Kestrel and Arin are the two sides of the same coin. They balance and complement each other in the best ways. Also, this series tore my heart out with each book.
Lyric and Ayden, Unraveling You series by Jessica Sorensen
These two have my other favorite type of romantic trope. Friends to lovers. While not a terribly long friendship, and Ayden was attracted to her from the start. It's still a romance built on trust.
Meela and Lysi, Mermaids of Eriana Kwai Series by Tiana Warner
From how they meet, to how they come together is the most extreme "star-crossed lovers" story I have read. I can't really say a whole lot that won't be spoilers for this series. But I recommend this series.
Inej and Kaz, Six of Crows series by Leigh Bardugo
There is just something... pure about them. I don't know how to explain it but those who haven't read this series might know what I mean. (A third book seems to have been added to Goodreads, I don't know if it's actually going to happen or not but I am game if it means more Inej and Kaz and the crew)
Cleo and Magnus, Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes
I shipped them since about the half-way point in book 2. They become a great couple and balance each other well. At least up to book 4, I haven't had the chance to read the rest of the series yet.
Jasminda and Jack, Earthsinger Chronicles by L. Penelope
I think they are only in the first book, but I still love them together. I haven't been able to find the rest of the series anywhere. But they are still a favorite couple.
Tonks and Lupin, Harry Potter by JK Rowling
What they could have been to the magical community but never had the chance to be is the saddest part of the series in my opinion.
Kai and Cinder and Tonks and Lupin are amazin choices! :-) My TTT
ReplyDeleteI really need to read The Lunar Chronicles... Katy and Daemon are awesome.
ReplyDeleteInej and Kaz are a great choice.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Yeah, I really need to read the Lunar Chronicles one of these days.
ReplyDeleteThis is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I wracked my brain to think of a Sci-Fi or Fantasy couple. Why didn't I think of all the couples in the Cinder series? Good call! My favorite literary couples
ReplyDeleteDay and June will always be one of my favorite couples. I have to read Leigh Bardugo's Grisha Verse books, the Lux books, and The Lunar Chronicles... so many books, so little time!
ReplyDeleteInej and Kaz seem to get a lot of love. It really makes me curious about that series. :)
ReplyDeleteI read Cinder yeaaars ago, but I remember adoring Kai and Cinder together!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT post!
You're right - pretty much everyone in TLC could be on this list. :)
