Synopsis:
When seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen...but he is, in fact, something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she'd only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head.

I enjoyed this book. It didn't give me the same level of excitement or entertainment that The Lux series did. And I didn't really expect it to in a way. While I like Luc, Evie felt kind of bland in a way, it might have had to do with the revelations that came out, but she still barely had a personality.

I liked that this book shows the aftermath of the world finding out that aliens exist and the aftermath of a failed invasion and what it means for everybody. It was interesting and realistic that the world Governments would take steps to prevent aliens from doing anything they did before again. I hope the next book shows a little more of that. I'd like to learn more about the underground movement and see more of Katy, Daemon, Dee, and Dawson in future books.

I think what made me not like this book as much as I wanted to is that I really didn't feel that Evie and Luc really had that much chemistry. Katy and Daemon had chemistry from the start, it was lots of banter and heated arguments, but they still had Chemistry. Luc, and Evie... they had a semi-romantic encounter 10 minutes after meeting. It felt forced, even with what we later learn about Evie.

The non-relationship elements of this book were more interesting to me than the "romance" between Evie and Luc. Finding out that Daedalus could still be in operation, and what they seem to be planning. So I plan on reading the rest of the series as it comes out because I want to know that, right now I just don't really care about Luc and Evie's relationship.
