Synopsis:
Mistborn: Secret History is a companion story to the original Mistborn trilogy. As such, it contains HUGE SPOILERS for the books Mistborn (The Final Empire), The Well of Ascension, and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning. Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterization, events, and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Reading it without that background will be a confusing process at best. In short, this isn’t the place to start your journey into Mistborn. (Though if you have read the trilogy—but it has been a while—you should be just fine, so long as you remember the characters and the general plot of the books.) Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story’s existence is, in a way, a spoiler.
There’s always another secret.

*********

I am conflicted when it comes to this book. The way people talked about this novella/short story, I was expecting something more. I did enjoy what was here, but it also felt like a lot was missing and left out that I assumed was going to be here.

This was the book/story that I was told not to read until after I read Bands of Mourning. But this was sadly a little underwhelming. I liked the cameos  and Easter Eggs that were in this book. The new area I wish had been explored more as well. Maybe if I've read other books on the Cosmere, outside the Mistborn books, some things would have had a larger impact on me.

I am trying really hard not to mention who this book is about, but the cover might give that away. It did have some very interesting parts that are pushing me to read more of the Cosmere.

I may revisit this book after reading more of the Cosmere to see if I feel any different about it.
