Synopsis:
Harry Dresden--Wizard
Lost Items Found. Paranormal Investigations. Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates. No Love Potions, Endless Purses, or Other Entertainment.
Business has been slow. Okay, business has been dead. And not even of the undead variety. You would think Chicago would have a little more action for the only professional wizard in the phone book. But lately, Harry Dresden hasn't been able to dredge up any kind of work--magical or mundane.
But just when it looks like he can't afford his next meal, a murder comes along that requires his particular brand of supernatural expertise.
A brutally mutilated corpse. Strange-looking paw prints. A full moon. Take three guesses--and the first two don't count.
I never used to keep track of the phases of the moon.
Friday 56:
And from outside, over the sirens and the moans and noise of a city night, I heard a long, furious howl.

50/50 Friday is a new weekly link-up hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. This has recently been retired. Here is her post explaining the situation.

This week's topic is Favorite/Least Favorite Cassandra Claire Book Cover
This is pretty easy for me.
Best
The original hardcover Clockwork Angel, Prince, and Princess.
I love those covers so much.
Worst
The original Hardcovers for the first three books of TMI.
The half-decapitated dudes, not a huge fan.
Q: How often do you visit your local library?
A: I never visit the physical location. Before it's because I live slightly too far away to get there all the time. Now it's because my county is still a bit in lockdown. I'm hoping they open soon, I have some books I want to donate.
But I always borrow books from their eLibrary. I'd say more than half the books I read come from the library.

Because of COVID I've been reading e-books checked out from the library but now they are offering curbside pick ups so I'm getting print books again. The Fool Moon is part of a long series, isn't it? How many books have you read so far in the series? My quotes are from Mr. Mercedes
ReplyDeleteDresden Files is about a 17 book series, I don't know if it's on-going or finished. This is my first read through. So I've only read the first book, Storm Front. Fool Moon is the second.
DeleteThe synopsis of Fool Moon, and the title seems interesting!
ReplyDeleteOur library doesn't even have e-books...! Luckily I always know where to find new books.
Hope you will have a good weekend, here's my Weekend Book Friends
Another tempting book. Thanks for sharing the great excerpts, and here's mine: “IMPERFECT WOMEN”
ReplyDeleteVery cool snippets!! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou've hooked me on this series. I'm going to look for Storm Front.
ReplyDeleteMy library has curbside pick up, too. I've used it a few times since they opened again.
