Top Ten Tuesday: Books I've Read I've Loved (But Don't Own) That I Would Like To Own

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish,
And moved to That Artsy Reader Girl
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.

I'm going to split my list between books I've received from NetGalley and books I borrowed from my local library just to keep things better organized. I'm just linking out to the Goodreads page, I'm just feeling a little too lazy to shuffle through and link to individual books, especially since I am sharing (mostly) whole series, rather than individual books.

Library Borrows

1) Book of the Ancestor by Mark Lawrence - I've only read the first two so far (Red Sister, Grey Sister) and I am on the waiting list for the third (Holy Sister). But this series is so good, and the characters are fantastic.

2) Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff -  Now, I have only just finished the first book in this series, but can already tell it's a series I would love to own. Partly because the library versions I borrow are all on my Kindle, and the annotations are hyperlinks to pages at the back of the book which makes reading them obnoxious but at the same time easier to just not read if I so choose. But I want to own them for the maps... I love maps.

3) The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare - But only the first two books, I own the third, which is mostly why I want to own the other two. Gotta complete my set.

4) Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski - Ah, one of the series' where I read the books back to back and they broke me. An emotional rollercoaster.

5) The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo - These are just the best fairytales I have ever read. They have just the right amount of darkness that I enjoy. And the artwork is gorgeous, but I bet it looks better on the page than it did on the eBook.

NetGalley/ Received for Review

6) Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden - I received the whole series from NetGalley, and I just haven't gotten around to buying them yet. It is a beautiful series, with beautiful writing.

7) Swords and Fire Series by Melissa Caruso - Another one where I've only read the first book. It's been a couple years, but I still remember how much I liked it, and I would like to also own and read the other two books in the series.

8) Earthsinger Chronicles by L. Penelope - This is another fantastic series. There are only two books so far. On her podcast, she's been talking about the process of writing the fourth, so I assume the third is in edits.

9) The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young - This one isn't out yet, but it will be in about a week. There's a chance I'll be getting it soonish.

10) Fairytale Galaxy Chronicles by Katie Hamstead - There are currently only three books, but I think the author is planning more. And I really hope she is. These are really interesting multiplanet fairytale retellings. And I am a sucker for fairytale retellings.

  5. Yesssss, I totally support getting the Winner's Trilogy and The Language of Thorns! I got a copy of The Language of Thorns this year and honestly I think it's my fav read of 2019 so far! It's sooooo gorgeous--both the tales and the pictures!
