50/50 Friday is a new weekly link-up hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. Every week they have a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts' blogs.

Is this cheating? I honestly can't think of any other book that has this much diversity.
Not so Much
This book/series pretends it's diverse. None-white, non-straight characters are mentioned, but for the most part, they remain unimportant to the story as a whole. And that just creates boring characters in the end.
I have a kind of Love/hate relationship with this series... Like it's fun, but I know it's not great.
I'm not done with the series yet, but I figure there have been AMPLE opportunities to have non-white, non-straight characters from the start who played a real role in the story, not ones who are there for one chapter and never mentioned again, or ones to die senselessly.
