Top Ten Tuesday: Halloween related freebie - Ten Creepy Books/Have Horror Elements

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.
I don't really like things that are classified as Horror, not for reasons that are typical. A lot of Horror movies/books honestly bores me. I think that comes from my parents letting me see some of the classic horror movies when I was just a toddler. I saw Nightmare on Elm St when I was 3, don't remember the movie only that it gave me nightmares. I also saw the Chuckie movies when I was around three of four as well, caused me to stop playing with my Cabbage Patch Doll. But I have read some books that are creepy and have horror elements to them. Don't be fooled by some of the covers, the content is really messed up with some if not most of these books. Especially if you really think about what is happening. (Perfected is mostly the book I am talking about)
Covers are linked to review

I read this book so long ago, 7th grade I think was the first time I read it. Long before I started blogging. So I don't have a review for it.

  1. I have heard so much about You. I'm intrigued! :-)

  2. You is the one that looks familiar, but I think The Heartless looks good too.

  3. I never read horror and almost never end up reading the same books as other people, so I wasn't expecting to see books I recognized on people's lists this week, so I am really surprised to see that I've actually read some of these and have others on my TBR!

I LOVED The Heartless City! One of only two 5 star reads for me this year. And I loved Anne Rice in high school. I meant to re-read Interview this month since it's been so long, but I just didn't get around to it. I do still plan to re-read at some point though.

I have Frankie's Monster and Catch Me When I Fall on my TBR, and maybe also God's Play and Reign of Blood? I know those look familiar. Anyway, great list!

  5. I've never heard of any of these books, but The Heartless City and God's Play look really good!
Also, I don't like horror but for the opposite reasons: I'm just a big chicken (and I don't like gore). I could never imagine my mom letting me watch the movies your parents did at such a young age! I bet you aren't easily scared in real life though!
Great picks for this week's TTT!

    1. I get scared with jump scares, and "gorror", as I like to call it, isn't scary just gross to me. I like movies like The Ring. The Thriller genre of Horror. And I get pretty freaked out when it comes to bugs and snakes. Space also scares me, lol.
