Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.
1) Book Sales. I love a good book sale. Being broke, and loving to read sucks. :P But when there is a good sale on books you want to read.
2) Libraries. Again, when you are broke and can't buy all the books you want, the library is a great option, especially if the library you have a card with has eBooks available, it's awesome. Though it's weird that through the eLibrary I use, you can only borrow books for 7 days, or 21 days.
3) When my books are all the same height/width. And when they aren't it's a real bother. I recently(ish) won a book in a giveaway, and it was a paperback but it is taller and wider than most of the hardcover books I have, I was more annoyed about that when I first got the book than I am now, but still.
4) The sound when you open a new book. That tiny crackle is one of my favorite sounds, not really sure why but I love it.
5) Having people to nerd out over books with. Sadly, I don't have anyone I can directly talk to face-to-face with over books. But I have some friends and fellow bloggers online I can talk to. But I wish I had more people that I can talk at face to face about books with.
6) Bookish accessories. I love a good book themed throw pillow, or blanket, maybe even a t-shirt. They are some of my favorite things. I've found some really awesome bookish stockings, I don't remember where, but I want them.

7) Reading to my son, and him being really into the book. My little boy is 4, he has some mild learning disabilities, he's mostly speech delayed, and he loves being read to. It gets to the point though that some nights he wants all his books read to him and gets real sad when we have to say 'no more books tonight'. But he's kind of memorized some of his books and it's really cute when he "reads" them to me.
8) Book Marks. I love going to bookstores that have free bookmarks. Not many have bookmarks that are free, but when one does, I only take one. Taking more than one I feel like a jerk, but who doesn't love free bookmarks?
9) Cuddling up with a book on a rainy day. It's been really cold and rainy lately and windy. And those days are the best for just wrapping myself in a blanket and reading.
10) Indie books. I really love underrated books, that almost nobody has heard of. I like being the person that tells people about new books.

The third and fifth one absolutely agree with them and with everything. Great list. :) Here's mine: TTT
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I love it when books are all the same height and editions. It is such an annoying sight to see them not matching on your shelf.
ReplyDeleteSadly our local library is useless and if you like horror or urban fantasy, the books are ten years out of date! So I have to buy, download cheap or borrow from friends. I love Indie books! I'm a big fan of zombie and apocalypse books so there are lots of Indie books in those genres to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a real bummer. You can't request books for them to buy for the library? I believe some libraries allow that.
DeleteI love reading on rainy days as well, it is one of my favorite things to do ever. I also put bookish accessories on my list! I love it when people get the reference :)
ReplyDeletehere's my TTT!
It is hard to find people in real life to talk books with, thank goodness for the blogging community! And a good library is always nice, mine's not great but there are good ones around. I love a good used bookstore... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a librarian, so of course I have to say libraries are the best! :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I nominated you for the Infinity Dreams Award.
ooh, Thank you!
