Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Debut Authors Who Have Me Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.

As usual, this list is in no particular order. Most of the books I am looking forward to the most, aren't sophomore books for the author. But I was able to find enough for this list.

The Shadow Order (The Girl at Midnight #2 by Melissa Grey
The first book was so good and the magical writing reminded me of Daughter of Smoke and Bone, my favorite series ever.
(Review of book one)

The Mime Order (The Bone Season #2 by Samantha Shannon
Yeah, I know this book has been out for almost a year already and the third one is in the works, but I haven't read it yet. I just bought it though and I plan on reading soon.
(Review of book one)

Toxic Heart (Mystic City #2) by Theo Lawrence
This one has also been out for a while, and I also just got it. This book was really hard to find. The first book was a little on the strange side but I am looking forward to reading this one. (Review of Book one)

Find Me If You Dare  (Dreamcatcher #2) by Vicki Leigh
I actually got an ARC of this book, so I am really excited to read it.
(Review of book one)

The sequel to Ice Massacre by Tiana Warner.
I don't know what the title is, or when it's coming out. All I know is that there will be a sequel. Hopefully soon because this book was so good.

Sequel [if there is one] to Plus One (Plus One #1) by Elizabeth Fama
Now, I have no idea if this will actually have a sequel or not. It has a prequel Novella that focuses on a different character. I want this book to have a sequel so bad. The ending of this book left a lot to the imagination.

Sequel to Water So Deep by Nichole Giles
Another book that had a pretty open ending. According to her facebook, this book will have a sequel, we just don't know when. Hopefully soon, I loved this book. I also don't know if this is an actual sophomore book.

A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir
I recently read the first book in this series, and it blew me away. Such a great story. I am really looking forward to the sequel.
(Review of book one)

Chains of Water and Stone (The Griever's Mark #2) by Katherine Hurley
The first book was a really great new fantasy that I read last year. The characters and the writing were really good. I wish I could read the sequel right now. Though I'm not too thrilled about the cover change, it's a little strange.
(Review of book one)

Whatever Andrea Berthot writes next.
I read her first book The Heartless City back in August. So good. Seriously, this book was fantastic. I can't wait to see what she writes next.

  2. Most of these are new to me, but I am definitely looking forward to a Torch Against the Night. I have also had The Bone Season sitting on my shelf for over a year now, and I definitely need to just take the plunge and read it! Great list :)

  3. I've been meaning to read An Ember in the Ashes since it came out, but for some reason I still haven't. It sounds amazing though.
Great list! Check out my TTT when you get the chance :)

  5. I haven't read anything from any of these authors, though I've always been interested in The Bone Season. I'm just hesitant to commit to a seven book series. Maybe I'll read it years down the road when all the books have been released... :)
