I am Thankful for....
- Coffee to help me with my late night reading.
- NetGalley, Free books are my favorite and I've had the opportunity to read a decent number of books early.
- Indie authors. Some of my favorite books are written by indie authors.
- The Blogging community. I have met some pretty awesome people and discovered some great books since I started blogging.
- My Husband. My husband is the most perfect person for me. He calls me on my shit all the time, and I need someone like that. He is really supportive and doesn't let me get away with making excuses for myself. It can be annoying but that's only because I know when he's right about me making an excuse.
- The Library. I don't think many people think about using the library these days, and when books cost as much as they do, and when there's a book you aren't sure you're going to like the Library is a great option
I don't even know why. I think I just wanted an excuse to use this gif. I regret nothing.... |
- That my health is better than I expected it to be. Long story short, I have a genetic thing that almost killed me when I was a kid. And since until recently I wasn't able to get medical coverage I am thankful that my health is better than I had expected since I haven't been to a doctor since I was around 18. (Over 10 years ago.)
- Pretty covers, I know it shouldn't matter, but a pretty cover with an interesting title is nice to see.
- Box sets. There's always a good chance that the covers will match, and box-sets tend to cost less than buying each book individually.
- Authors who like to talk to their readers. I really like when authors reach out to readers. It makes them seem less like some entity that writes books hidden away from the world and more like someone who really cares about their readers.
- Blog tours. I love being part of blog tours. It's a great way to find more bloggers and learn about new books.
It is good to give thanks. Have a wonderful week. My Thankful TTT
ReplyDeleteThis is a grett list, Marie. I should have included NetGalley! I really enjoy it when authors reach out to readers too. I've been known to be more likely to read a book by an author who I see "chatting" on Twitter--and I don't mean about their books.
ReplyDelete:-) A lovely list! I do love an author who connects with readers too.
ReplyDeleteI love this list! Indie authors are also some of my favorites, and it's the best when authors actually appreciate and talk to their readers. I also love pretty covers, so it's all good lol. And I'm glad your health is (relatively?) well after a scare like that :-)
ReplyDeleteNo scare, It only caused me actual problems when I was 12, then I had my surgery and all has been well since then.
DeleteThis is a great list - I don't know how I'd live without the library. I'd certainly have a LOT less money!
ReplyDeleteHere's my list: TTT
You have a great list here!! I totally agree with being thankful for Netgalley, Indie authors, and other bloggers! I am so thankful I found this amazing community who understands and shares my bookish obsession! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAwesome List, Netgalley is a wonderful resource!! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Here's my Top Ten Tuesday
ReplyDeleteHahaha, your gif made me chuckle. I am also very thankful for Netgalley and all the wonderful books they give me to read! I am also very thankful for my health. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a few years ago and there have been some struggles (and some stroppy moments from myself) but then I look around the world at some of the other health problems people are suffering with and I am immediately thankful for my own health.
ReplyDeleteI really like your list and hope you have a great thanksgiving :)
This is honestly a wonderful list. I agree with pretty much everything on this list, but especially coffee and libraries. I am endlessly thankful for those two things. Have a great Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the books I'm thankful for!
We share so many of the same ones!! Coffee, pretty covers, library and the blogging community were big ones for me. Great list!
ReplyDeleteAnother fan of coffee and libraries here!
