Synopsis:
Mai’s plans for a weekend of cosplay fun and games at Fan Expo come to a screeching halt when a smokin’ hot fae with a vendetta against her father decides the best revenge is claiming her for his own.
Her father cost Ryuu everything: his home, his family…and his mate. Ryuu wants his pound of flesh, and he’s willing to take it out of Mai’s hide, bite by sensuous bite.
While she’s quick to bare her teeth and snap at Ryuu’s gentling hand, she sheathes her claws once he offers her secrets about her life and her father that rock the foundation of her world.
Caught between Ryuu’s tender persistence and her father’s iron will, Mai’s not sure who to trust, but before it’s all over this kitsune will show them both why she’s one stone-cold fox.

Review:

I've always liked Mai's character. A tiny sassy best friend. She was fun and quirky. When I saw that she was getting her won book/series, I was really excited.

Sadly, this book wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It was also a lot shorter than I had hoped, but then again so was Thierry's first book and that series blossomed into a great one.

I'm not really that sure how to review this book since in a way not that much happened. And I feel that the book wrapped things up just a little too much to give any idea what a sequel could be about.

Maybe Mai's going to request an investigation into her father, and the suspicious activity he's up to. Who really knows.

I hope the next book is something that Mai's character really deserves, one that focuses around her job the way Thierry's did.
