Book Beginnings| Friday 56 | Blogger Hop || The Shadow Hour (The Girl at Midnight #2) by Melissa Grey

Please join us over at RoseCityReader every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

This is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice
These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.

I read the first book, The Girl at Midnight, the first time  years ago, and then I re-read it last year fully planning  on reading this one right after but I got sidetracked and kept just not picking it up. But I decided to just finish up the series since I have all three books on my shelf.

Synopsis:
A battle has been won. But the war has only just begun.
Everything in Echo’s life changed in a blinding flash when she learned the startling truth: she is the firebird, the creature of light that is said to bring peace.
The firebird has come into the world, but it has not come alone. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and Echo can feel a great and terrible darkness rising in the distance. Cosmic forces threaten to tear the world apart.
Echo has already lost her home, her family, and her boyfriend. Now, as the firebird, her path is filled with even greater dangers than the ones she’s already overcome.
She knows the Dragon Prince will not fall without a fight.
Echo must decide: can she wield the power of her true nature—or will it prove too strong for her, and burn what’s left of her world to the ground?
Welcome to the shadow hour.

Book Beginning:
Rowan could pinpoint the exact moment he fell in love.

Friday 56:
"Absolutely not," she said. "Nobody goes anywhere alone. That's what you said the first day we holed up in this dive, remember?"

  1. Take a look...it is similar to Instagram, but the atmosphere is a bit more friendly and cozy. Fun book games and questions to answer too.
