Top Ten Tuesday: Online Resources for Book Lovers

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish,
Now, hosted by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.

I don't really use many reading resources. Mostly the standard stuff.

Goodreads - Pretty much everybody either uses or has heard of this site. It has its uses, there are some things that I don't really like about it. But it's kind of hard to not use it sometimes.

Story Graph - This has been a pretty good, not really replacement for Goodreads. There are some features that it doesn't have that I use on Goodreads. (polls, lists, etc.), a lot of people who have found this site have deleted their Goodreads. As I mentioned, there are some things that I like and use on Goodreads, so I have both. Story graph is strictly for tracking your own reading, and while you can follow people, there is no social media aspect of this site. I recommend checking it out.

OverDrive - I use this app to check eBooks out from my local library. The number 1 site that prevents me from reading the books that I own.

NetGalley - I think most people know about this site. A site where you can request eARCs for upcoming books, and where I got the majority of books I read when I started seriously blogging. And the second site that prevents me from reading books that I own.

BookBub - This site is a pretty great hub to find ebooks at discount and sometimes free.

  2. I have been using Goodreads for years, but I am trying to use Storygraph. I just don't remember to update it as much as I need to.

  3. I find myself using Goodreads almost daily. No I'm not adding or deleting books that often, normally it's just tracking my reading progress. And to look at the Giveaways to see if there is anything there I want to read.

  4. As a kindle reader, Goodreads just makes it so darned easy to add everything…but the site itself still frustrates the bejesus out of me. I keep hoping that someone will do it better, but also will do it with e-readers in mind.

    I mean, girl can dream.

  6. I use Goodreads as well. It has come up a lot on the posts today. People definitely seem to have mixed feelings about it! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

  7. I use many of these as well! I've started using Storygraph but I have to admit that Goodreads is still my go-to as it's more complete and I'm just so used to logging on there! And of course, NetGalley is a great resource although as an international reader I'm sadly quite limited in my requesting options! Great list :)
