Top Ten Tuesday: My Ten Most Recent Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish,
Now, hosted by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.
My ten most recent reads are a little of a mixed bag, has my least favorite read of the year, and my most favorite read. I'm listing them starting with my most recent read.

Fun read. Magic, curses, headstrong apprentice of a witch.

This is my favorite read of the year so far. Magical realms, secret pasts, ancient prophecies, and portals to other worlds, magic ravens.

Third volume of the manga. I love the anime so much, and I am loving reading the manga just as much.
Princess on the hunt for ancient Dragon warriors, set on revenge to get her throne back.

The final book in a trilogy, alternate history, magic, Arthurian legend inspired. This book made me cry.

This was my least enjoyable read of the year (so far). An author trying a little too hard to write quirky characters, they end up not sounding like real people at all and are just annoying.

The second volume of the manga, Yona and her childhood friend, turned bodyguard, turned only ally from the castle are hiding in the mountains, looking for a priest who might be able to help them find more allies.

This is a strange book, there's a lot of time-jumps that made it hard for me to follow things. Written beautifully, I just had no idea what was going on half the time.

Not what I was expecting when I started it, but this became a favorite read. A very interesting magic system, great character development. I would love to read more books set in this world.

The sequel to a book I read late last year, another one with an interesting magic system. I can't wait to read more books in this series. I hope I don't have to wait too long.

I am disappointed with myself for holding out so long on reading this. The hype scared me. In the top ten reads of the year so far.
