Review:

On to the second book in the bind-up. And I gotta say, that I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first.
The plot, while more detailed, was less interesting for me. There seemed to be two plots competing with each other. The sickness attacking the dragons, and Mordon trying to connect with Kaelan.

While there was no annoying love triangle, there was still some mildly annoying angsty BS of "losing trust in each other". It wasn't petty things, but still, I know they are teenagers but jumping to a conclusion so quickly that they can't be trusted before talking to each other first was annoying. Especially considering all they've been through in such a short amount of time I would hope they'd give each other the benefit of the doubt first.

Both plot lines were interesting and did add something to the world, but as I said, they felt like they were competing with each other a little. The plotline with Mordon added to the worldbuilding of the magic of Dragons, and that was really interesting to read. I liked reading those scenes a little bit more than I did with Kaelan kind of stumbling over herself trying to cure everybody on her own. For someone who is supposed to have a lot of courage she sure does let people walk all over her a lot, I hope she stops that in the next book.

The romance continues to be a nice part of the plot. I'm curious to where things are headed at this point, especially with a plot device involving a prophecy that was added to this book. I kind of hope it's used the way I think it is. If it doesn't I hope it's still used in a good way.

This was a quick read, I read it in a few hours.
