Friday 56 and Book Beginning: A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas || Friday 50/50: Best/Worst Magical Ability

This is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice
These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.

Please join us over at RoseCityReader every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

I am pretty close to being done reading CoMaF, and I want to go straight into reading the sequel.

Synopsis:

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit – and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords – and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

Book Beginning:
Rhysand
Two Years Before the Wall
The buzzing flies and screaming survivors had long since replaced the beating war-drums.

My 56:
"Isn't there some way to get out of this deal with Hybern?" My words were barely louder than the murmuring embers outside. "I'm back, I'm safe. We could find some way around it--"

50/50 Friday is a new weekly link-up hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books.  Every week they have a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts' blogs.

Best

This one is a little more difficult for me to choose because there are so many that I think are cool.
Time Control, not sure if it's the best, but it's the most unique. The first two books are amazing, but sadly the third has apparently been put on hold for I don't know how long.

*****

Worst

Talking to Ghosts - Don't know if it's "magic" but it's an ability that normal people don't have. But I think this is a really boring ability.

  1. The excerpts grabbed me. Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “THREE THINGS ABOUT ELSIE”

  2. I started this one and was confused. I need to read the first two books again before I try this one a second time. This week I have As Death Draws Near by Anna Lee Huber - a historical mystery. Happy reading!

  3. This is the next book I need to read in the series, but honestly, I prefer The Throne of Glass series. :-) Happy weekend!

  6. I agree talking to ghosts is quite boring, especially since the ability doesn't really do anything! Time control does sound nifty! I went with more of a teleportation ability in my post. :)
