I was nominated by Lauren over at Always Me for The Blogger Recognition Award. Thank you so much, you're awesome.
This Award was originally created by Eve @ Edge of Night - thanks to you as well for coming up with such a great idea for an award!
Here are the rules:
- Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
- Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
- Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
- Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
- Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!
How I got started:
When I first started this blog back in 2009, I really didn't post much of anything, and it wasn't really a blog yet, I posted maybe a couple times a month and it was just small updates about what was going on in my life. But when I discovered Goodreads, and decided to make this into a book blog (in late 2011), that was when I really started posting things. I've had a lot of fun and encountered many wonderful other bloggers since then, as well as discovered multiples of books I never considered reading. Things really picked up in my blogging and posting when I joined NetGalley; admittedly, I request more books than I should from there. But let's not talk about that, heh.
Tips for other bloggers:
- Don't feel bad about writing a review for books you don't like. Those are important too. Some bloggers only post reviews for books they love, but I like knowing what people don't like about books as much as what they do like.
- Remember to have fun. If you aren't having fun, then there's not really a point. Blogging takes time, and life is too short to be doing things that make you unhappy.
- Don't worry about not getting thousands of viewers right away. There are so many blogs out there, it might take time to be found.
- Explore and comment on other's blogs. (This goes with the above) Start discussions, and meet other bloggers.

I also started out with Goodreads as my main tool to get around with books and other people that had the same love and interest. I didn't know there was whole other world of blogging that some bloggers take pride in and I decided to join in that world and become a part of it. Thanks for nominating me and ur blog is amazing as well!!!
