Questions:
1. What was the last book you marked as 'read'?
2. What are you currently reading?
3. What was the last book you marked as 'TBR'?
It sounds interesting but I have no idea when I'll get around to it. Eventually I suppose.
4. What book do you plan to read next?
5. Do you use the star rating system?
Yes, but I don't feel that it is very accurate. Rarely there is a book that deserves negative stars.
6. Are you doing a 2014 Reading Challenge?
Yes, I have challenged myself to read 200 books this year. I am at 74 books so far. (about 40% done)
7. Do you have a wishlist?
Yes, on amazon. It is a very long list of books. And with my birthday coming up, I hope to make that list smaller with all the books I'd like to buy for myself
8. What book do you plan to buy next?
This book comes out really close to my birthday, and I can't wait to read it.
9. Do you have any favorite quotes, would you like to share a few?
I have a widget for that to the left.
One of my favorite quotes is:
“I don't know many rules to live by,' he'd said. 'But here's one. It's simple. Don't put anything unnecessary into yourself. No poisons or chemicals, no fumes or smoke or alcohol, no sharp objects, no inessential needles--drug or tattoo--and...no inessential penises either.'
'Inessential penises?' Karou had repeated, delighted with the phrase in spite of her grief. 'Is there any such thing as an essential one?'
'When an essential one comes along, you'll know,' he'd replied.”
― Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone
10. Who are your favorite authors?
Abbie Glines, Laini Taylor, Cassandra Clare, Sarah J. Maas, Marie Lu, Jay Crownover, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Rae Hachton, Penelope Douglas, JK Rowling... the list goes on.
11. Have you joined any groups?
A few, but I don't really participate in any of them. I'd rather spend my free time reading, than talking in a group about reading.
12.Do you use the standard goodread shelves or have you added any others?
I have a 'Boring Books" shelf that I added, for books that I am not going to recommend or re-read, and a "Finish Later" shelf for those books that are slower paced.
13. Are there any questions you would like to add?
Sure:
"What kinds of books do you read and recommend most?"
I read a lot of YA fantasy/romance (YA romance generally has less sexytime and more plot than most adult romance that I have come across) and I recommend books that really blow me away that I think more people should read. And this past year those books have been some lesser known books.
