Book Beginning:
Blood clotted in my nostrils. I was scent-blind and chocking on dust kicked up by my opponent's shuffling footwork.

This is the fourth book in this series. I've been a little addicted to this series since book one. So, I already knew this book was going to be intense.

56% on tablet:
I ran for all I was worth, retracing our steps, wishing I hadn't left blood behind that they could use as a focusing object for any nasty spells they wanted to design for me.

  1. I feel like I've come in to the middle of a conversation and have no idea what is going on. Guess I'll have to start on book one.

    1. It's a really fun series. Happy weekend. :D

  2. This sounds good. I've been binging on urban fantasy this summer but haven't heard of this series. I'll have to add it to the stack. My BB and 56 this week come from The Master Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg. Happy reading!

  3. It does sound pretty intense and it's going straight on my TBR :)

    1. Be sure to start with book one, other wise not only will you spoil yourself on future topics, but you might also get a little confused. :p

  4. Not my thing, but I'm glad you're enjoying it.

  5. Sounds like a highly exciting series!! Happy weekend!

    1. The modern take on Fae mythology and half-fae and their place is really interesting. And the MC has a pretty awesome name. Thierry Thackeray

    1. You might like this series, it's really well written and there's actually very little gore.

  7. A tough female protagonist. I'm in! And that's a wicked excerpt.
    My 56 -

  8. I recently developed a love for Urban Fantasy. This sounds intense and just maybe something I would enjoy. I will have to check this one out. Here is my Friday 56

    1. I really love this series. It's one of those lesser known authors and books, and those are my favorite kind. I do read a lot of the "main stream" books, but the books that are lesser known have been some of my favorite in the past few years since I started blogging. Happy Weekend. :)

  9. This sounds like it could be an awesome urban fantasy...I'm going to have to check out the series!

Check out my 56 (With Book Beginnings) and my current giveaway.
