Cress by Marissa Meyer

Lunar Chronicles #3
Summary:
"In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.
Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.
When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has."

So I have a lot to say about this book.

It was just full of suspense and action. Cress, or Crescent Moon, was far saner than you would expect someone who was trapped in a satellite for most of their life to be. She was kind of adorable, and a little tragic too. Her crush on Thorne was cute, and kind of gave off more of that Rapunzel/Flynn Ryder vibe. Not that that's a bad thing.

Iko was also great, as always. I liked that Scarlet wasn't in this book as much. I just didn't like her as much as the rest of the characters, and if she had been in it more the scenes would have been crowded, and it brought something to Wolf and her's dynamic.

The the star of this book was undeniably Throne. He was so funny and it was really important to see him as more than the overly confident pilot/fugitive. Him having to rely on someone physically weaker than him, it really brought out more to his character. Wolf being separated from Scarlet kind of caused him to go bananas for a short time.

You really start to feel extra bad for Kai in this book, you get to see the personal struggle he goes through. The conflicted feelings he has between doing what's best for the Common Wealth, and and keeping Cinder safe from Queen Levana, because Levana is bananas.

There were parts that I speed read because I needed to know what was gonna happen next. We meet Princess Winter in this book. There is definitely something off about her, and I really am curious as to where she's going to fit into everything, since the last book is titled Winter, it's safe to presume that she's going to be more of the focus.

The last line of the book made me think of Revolution by The Beatles. (read the book and you'll get what I mean)
