Friday 56 and Book Beginnings: End of Days (Penryn & the End of Days #3) by Susan Ee

This is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice
These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.

Please join us over at RoseCityReader every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

Review for Angelfall
Review for World After

Synopsis:
After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They’re both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn’s sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.
When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

Book Beginning:
Everywhere we fly, people scatter below us.
They see the great shadow of our swarm above them, and they run.

My 56:
I've never seen Beliel so chatty. This earlier version of him is going to take some getting used to.

  4. I have had the first book on my Kindle forever but haven't begun this series yet. Except for Nalini Singh's, I really don't care for books with angels as characters. I have a fantasy and final book in a trilogy this week - Freedom's Slave by Heather Demetrios. Happy reading!

  5. I must read this series. I have the first book so not sure why I haven't already started it. :-) Happy weekend!

  6. I haven't finished this series yet, even though I LOVED the first two books. I really need to start this soon but probably it would be a better idea to start the series again so I could remember the details...
