This survey was created by The Perpetual Page-Turner. You can find my answers to last year's survey Here.
So head on over to her blog and take part in this survey. Be sure to remember to credit her and add your link to her post so she can see your answers.
Have a Merry Christmas and all that jazz.

Number Of Books You Read: 53 as of today (December 21st)
Number of Re-Reads: 0
Genre You Read The Most: Fantasy

1. Best Book You Read In 2016?
(If you have to cheat — you can break it down by genre if you want or 2016 release vs. backlist)
This was kind of tough to choose, but this was in my top 3 favorite books I read this year.

2. Book You Were Excited About and Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
Not that I didn't like it, it just wasn't the ending I was hoping for. It just fell a little flat for me.

3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?
I didn't know what to expect from this book at the start. But it was a really enjoyable read.

4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?
I didn't really push any books this year. I kind of took a step back from reading this year. I just didn't have as much time to read and promote books as I have in the past.

5. Best series you started in 2016? Best Sequel of 2016? Best Series Ender of 2016?

6. Favorite new author, you discovered in 2016?

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?
This book gave me nightmares, I actually couldn't finish it and didn't make it very far.
It was just too "real".

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?
There was just so much going on in this book, and I think that's why it wasn't my favorite series end book that I read this year. A lot of story arcs to wrap up, but still a fantastic book.

9. Book You Read In 2016 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?
I don't know. I never plan my reading anyways, unless I am given an arc, or get one from NetGalley. Other than that I just read what I am in the mood to read.

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2016?
      Weird book too.

11. Most memorable character of 2016?
This is going to sound odd, but Joe from You by Caroline Kepnes. He was just so creepy and seemed like someone that could actually exist.

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2016?

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2016?
Not really sure. Many of the books I read this year were sequels, last books in a series, or uncorrected proofs from NetGalley. There wasn't really a book, that I can think of, that was all that thought-provoking.

14. A Book you can’t believe you waited, UNTIL 2016 to finally read?
So, this was the second Stacey Jay book I've read. And I loved this book so much. It was one of the better reimagining/retellings of a Fairytale. I want her to only write retellings. She does it really well.

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2016?
“I know your soul. Everything else is just an ornament.” -Amar

16. Shortest and Longest Book You Read In 2016?
(How I did this: Went to my read books on Goodreads and sorted by page number and just looked for what I knew I read this year that was the shortest and longest.)

Shortest: Chosen by a Dragon (Fallen Immortals #4) by Alisa Woods - 268 Pages

17. Book That Shocked You The Most
(Because of a plot twist, character death, left you hanging with your mouth wide open, etc.)
For how underwhelming it was for me. I am still enjoyed reading it, but it just ended kind of 'meh' for me.

18. OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)
(OTP = one true pairing if you aren’t familiar)
It's a toss up between Kai and Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles; or Kestrel and Arin from the Winner's Trilogy.

19. Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year
Chris Buckley and Olivia Faraday from The Faraday Files. It's just a really amusing boss-employee relationship they have. She is so brash and he is so conservative and concerned with propriety. It's really funny.

20. Favorite Book You Read in 2016 From An Author You’ve Read Previously.

21. Best Book You Read In 2016 That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure:
The only book I can think of that might qualify is
I finally, I guess caved and read it. I kind of felt like I had to. I have watched almost every adaptation.

22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2016?
I read a lot of YA... all those characters are much younger than me. It would be kind of weird to form a crush on a character the same age as one of my little brothers.

23. Best 2016 debut you read?
This book is on my list a lot....

24. Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?
I'm going with my favorite world building.

25. Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?
Traveling circus, set in the 80's? Mysterious southern city, mysterious deaths and disappearances, yes please.

26. Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2016?
Well, I was really nervous starting this book.

27. Hidden Gem Of The Year?
I may have only given it 3.5 stars on Goodreads, but I still enjoyed it. And I want to read the rest of the series when it comes out. There's going to be a fairly large gap between this first book and its sequel.

28. Book That Crushed Your Soul?
Winner's Kiss could have. It could have gone a very differnt way and broken my soul. Because the first two books did.

29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2016?

30. A Book That Made You The Most Angry (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)?
This book actually kind of pissed me off. You can read why Here

1. New favorite book blog you discovered in 2016?
I don't remember if I discovered any new blogs this year.

2. Favorite review that you wrote in 2016?

3. Best discussion/non-review post you had on your blog?
I didn't have any. My reviews are kind of discussion based.

4. Best event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc.)?
I participate in four weekly meme's
Top Ten Tuesday

5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2016?
I haven't blogged much this year. Or really read that much as past years. So, I can't really think of any.

6. Most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year?
    Actually doing it.
Taking a step back from just reading anything and everything has made it so I haven't really blogged this year.

7. Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog (whether it be by comments or views)?

8. Post You Wished Got A Little More Love?
Any of my reviews. They don't get nearly as many views as the weekly meme's I take part in.

9. Best bookish discover (book related sites, book stores, etc.)?
I discovered a (kind of) new book subscription box that I really want to get.

10. Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?
My only goal this year was to read less. Since I started blogging, I was kind of forcing myself to post a book review a week, that lead to me reading a lot of books that I didn't actually like that much, and the ones I did enjoy I barely remember. So, I wanted to do a "quality over quantity" this year. And I read far more books that I enjoyed than ones that I didn't. It was calming in a way. Though I do feel bad that I wasn't reviewing as much, I like writing my review and analysis of books.

1. One Book You Didn’t Get To In 2015 But Will Be Your Number 1 Priority in 2017?
As I continue to ignore the unread books I already have on my shelf... I really want to read.
After I buy it that is.

2. Book You Are Most Anticipating For 2017 (non-debut)?

3. 2017 Debut You Are Most Anticipating?

4. Series Ending/A Sequel You Are Most Anticipating in 2017?
One is a series ending, the other is the 3rd book in a series. Damn... I just realized that Throne of Glass is coming to an end next year. I really need to read the 5th book.

Both by Sarah J. Maas

5. One Thing You Hope To Accomplish Or Do In Your Reading/Blogging Life In 2017?
Being better at sharing my blog. I want to get more followers and discuss the books I've read with other bloggers more. I kind of feel like Im in this little corner alone with my stack of books and nobody to talk to about what I've read.

6. A 2017 Release You’ve Already Read and Recommend To Everyone:

  2. I need to read A STAR-TOUCHED QUEEN it seems like everyone is talking about it on this survey. I missed out, for sure not getting to it this year. Is the Sarah Maas book Empire of Storms published already? I have to stay on top of that author for my library that is for sure. I'd be honored if you would take a peek at my 2016 Book Survey. Thanks so much HeadFullofBooks Book Survey 2016
