This book was, I'll say different. Actually, I don't really know how to describe this book. There were parts that felt a little; strange. (Although that might have more to do with the version I have being the uncorrected proof)
The first couple of chapters were a little boring, and I wasn't all that interested in what was happening or Lilah and her annoying friend and Lilah's little sister. Things didn't actually start getting interesting until Lilah and her sister went to the compound.
The mystery surrounding that place was what kept me reading. The budding romance between Lilah and Daniel was sometimes out of place and a little forced. It was unnecessary to make it a romance in my opinion.
Flori, there were times when she seemed a lot older than 7, and others when she acted much younger. There were times when Lilah wasn't very consistent with how she decides who she trusts, and that was annoying. Though at the same time, she was pretty sheltered because of her father and the medication she was taking. So she'd never had to make decisions on her own. But once she learns all that her parents were involved in, she really pulls together at the end of this book.
This is a new release, and the way things ended, this book needs a sequel and I hope it gets one.
Unique cover but I am not sure it is my style of book.
ReplyDeleteIm still trying to figure out if I really like it or not. It was a strange story, that I think needs a sequel unless the author wants to leave people guessing.
