Synopsis:
"Revenge is an euphoric thing. Trust me on this. Nothing compares to the release you get when you ruin someone’s life. When they’ve stolen important things. Things that didn’t belong to them. Things I revel in making them pay for.
What? Have I offended you? I’m not here to appeal to your delicate senses. I have no intention of placating your wishes or living within your personal belief system nor do I care if you hate me. And you will hate me. Because I’m a brutal, savage, cold-blooded murderer and I’m here for my revenge.
I’m Ethan Moonsong…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most sacrificing man to the most feared and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world."

Review:
I liked this book, but I didn't love it. The first half was better than the last half, and the Ethan's journey didn't really touch me the same way Sophie and Spencer's did. For start, Ethan never really got rid of his anger and rage, he just found new targets for it. Granted these new targets were people that were terrible horrible people.

Ethan starts off angry at Spencer, the MC from the last book, for "stealing" his life from him. Blaming him for everything that's currently going wrong in his life, then a blast from the past in Finley shows up and slowly pulls him out of his anger, helping him understand that Cricket is happy now and he should find that kind of happiness. Then Finley goes to Vietnam, and that's when the shenanigans start to happen, and kind when the story starts to fall apart for me.

I mean, yeah, I get why the story went where it did. But Ethan's character development from the first part of the book starts to disappear, he goes from not as angry as he used to be, to damn near rage filled. I don't want to take away from what he did do, and that was save a lot of innocent people, but there were ways to save these people with out using the methods he was.

I definitely want to continue the series, but for me, this book just wasn't as good as the others.

  1. I was super excited to read Fury but after reading your review I am not sure anymore. I must admit learning someone goes to Afghanistan is scaring me a good deal. While I know the book is called Fury I was hoping it would not involve Ethan beating on people but now I am not sure since you have it classified as abuse.

  2. Vietnam, not Afhanistan. You might like it more than me. Goodreads labeled it as abuse, there's a human trafficking plot in it.
