Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Heroines

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish
This week it's the Top Ten Favorite Heroines;
To take part, just pick your top ten, and add the link here.

This list was kind of tough for me to tackle there are so many that I love, that picking just a handful is almost unfair. But, I now must narrow it down to just 10; here I go. (As always this list is in no particular order because I love them all)

*   *   *   *   *

1) Celaena Sardothien - Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
     As kick-ass lady assassins go, she is by far my favorite. I love how multidimensional she is as a character. Sure she loves her swords and knives, but she also loves dressing like a lady and being girly. For me that makes her seem more like a real person and not just a machine that kills.

2) Tatum "Tate" Brandt - Fall Away series by Penelope Douglas
     From page one, her sass made me know I was going to love her character. Her spunk and attitude is not something I've seen often in Contemporary Romance.

3) Karou - Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor
     She is just an all-around great character. I can't say too much about her without giving away the story.

4) Juliette Ferrars - Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi
     It was her character growth from chapter 1 book 1 to the end of the third book that makes her one of the best. She has possibly the best character development of any character I have read.

5) Anna Witt - The Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins
     This character also had some great character development. She starts as this really naive and almost timid person, to someone capable of just about anything.

6) Echo Emerson - Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
     This character, I am not really sure what it is about her that I love so much. Maybe it's her personal strength to deal with what she's been through.

7) Linh Cinder - The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
     Cinder also has a lot of personal strength. Someone who is looked down on by everyone around her just for being what she is, and still manages to find reasons to smile and keep her head held high.

8) Katy Swartz - The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
     Her sass and wit made me laugh so much. Not only is she a really funny character, she is also someone I can see being a real person. Well before all the alien stuff anyways. But she also represents the bloggers out there in a way.

9) June Iparis - Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu
     Strong, smart, a prodigy. June was a character that at first I wasn't sure I was going to like, but by the end of the first book, she became one of my favorites. Another character that had some great character development. She started out pretty much just a soldier, and became so much more.

10) Amy Martin - Across the Universe trilogy by Beth Revis
       A girl set out of her time and trapped in a strange place in space. She certainly made a couple really dumb decisions, but in her situation, I don't know of many people who would have faired better.

    1. It's one of my favorite series. The prequel Novellas are equally good.

    1. She must, she's been on almost every list I've seen. I am so looking forward to Queen of Shadows, I am only really sad that the wait is so long to read it.
