Friday 56: Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown

This is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice

These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post

' "Restful climate," she said with disgust. "We could have gone anywhere. Why here? Why now? How is this supposed to make things better?"
Hancock's gaze drifted to the ceiling. From the upstairs bedroom, Sophie's wailing cry  filled me with shame.'

  1. Is this book aimed at adults or teens? I have a student who is INTO mermaids right now and I wonder if this book would fit the bill. Let me know. Anne@My Head is Full of Books

    1. It's Young adult/teen. I had a great time reading it. It's a kind of short book. But it doesn't feel short.

  3. I have this but haven't finished it yet. I like the location for the story and it was the first book I had where the mermaids aren't nice.

    1. It's a really good book, I just need to read the rest of the series to find out where the story goes from the end of this book.
