Wow, this book was so much better. Where book one was mostly just all set up, this book was pack full of action and character development. All the old characters were improved on and all the new ones really added something to the story without feeling like the story is getting overcrowded with characters. (I tend to loose track of who's who when there's a large cast of characters)

Everything felt like it some coming together in this book, where parts of the last book felt a little slow for me, this one was so very engaging, I could hardly put it down. I am mostly really impressed and happy at how the writing itself improved from the first book to this one. 

I am really looking forward to what's to come in the next book and how many he plans on writing. This series may very well draw me into the world of High Fantasy books, something I normally don't read.
