Nash by Jay Crownover

Marked Men #4
Synopsis
Will their past determine their future?
Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of a nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down... and now he’s trying to do it again.
Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.
When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

Well, Ms. Crownover has done it again. All her books are filled with great characters, great dialog, a wonderful story, and everything that makes contemporary new adult books worth reading.

Nash (Nashville) Donavan is a fantastic character, much like the rest of the Marked Men she writes about. He's tattooed from head to toe, literally. From the outside, he looks like trouble, but he's an all around great guy with vibrant blue eyes to deep they look purple. He's quick to make others smile and quick to smile. But his world comes crashing down when Phil, his mentor, and the man who raised him under the guise of being his uncle reveals that he has lung cancer, and is actually his father.  What makes matters worse is that his mother doesn't seem to care, and is angrier that Phil revealed the truth about being his father than anything.

Saint Ford fell for Nash when they were in high school, she was shy, a little overweight and didn't have perfect skin. But Nash took the time to say hello and smile at her every day. His general niceness and not making snide remarks about her were what pulled her to go to the one and only high school party she ever attended, when he didn't give her the time of day during the 10 seconds they were both there she decided to hate him. After heading to college in California and a small handful of difficult relationships Saint has made up her mind about dating and focused on school and then work. After a family crisis brings her back to Denver, Saint bumps into Nash at the hospital when his best friend, Rule, older brother ends up in the hospital and that sends her world on its side.

Their story just confirms that this series is one of the best Contemporary New Adult Romances ever. Each of the books have made me laugh, cry, and smile. If you enjoy the genre, you will love these books. I can't wait to read Rowdy's story.
